PlanWell Enterprise: Overview
PlanWell Enterprise is a powerful Web application that accomplishes four primary tasks:
Manages and tracks your project plans and specs - find any plan at the click of mouse (and never lose one again!)
Manages and tracks the users of your project plans and specs - know who got what and when
Allows users to order digital files, CD’s or hard copy prints and arrange their delivery – A/E Graphics does the project management and distribution
Compiles a historical record and archives your plans and specs as documents are added to the planroom - close the job and the archive is finished (no "after-the-fact" archive compilation)
Simply provide A/E Graphics with project plans and specs (electronically or in paper form), indicate how you would like them organized - by discipline, CSI code, historical issue, etc. - and who should have access to them. The content provider typically pays a document management fee for the use of the system, but other users of the system simply pay for their normal reprographic services like digital file downloads of plans and specs, hard copy partial or full set orders or CD’s…nothing more.

PlanWell Enterprise: Security
- The data managed by the PlanWell system grows by gigabytes every day. And its not just any data: It's your data. It's information your company needs to operate effectively. It's intellectual property that - in some cases - is more important than the building itself.
- Data security is a responsibility we take very seriously. PlanWell's Data Center in Fremont, California, houses the primary communication and administration functions for the system. It also hosts security tools, software and equipment designed to scale with usage and protection needs.
- Databases of the documents are stored at A/E Graphics location and at the PlanWell Data Center. They are backed up daily in both places to removable media and stored off site. The locally hosted printable image files are also backed up regularly by A/E Graphics and stored offsite for safekeeping. Virtually any data loss can be restored quickly and easily.
- The Data Center hosts multiple T3 and T1 lines into and out of its facilities for maximum data throughput. A/E Graphics has a high-speed dedicated fiber connection to its office with up time over 99.97%. Automatic and redundant routing systems ensure that if the primary connection goes down, the system is immediately redirected to a redundant connection with no loss of service. Load balancing is handled through Storage Area Networks from our alliance partner, HP/Compaq, with nearly four terabytes of RAID server space and the latest Web farming and MS clustering technology.
